The Hunt — Location Safety Terms
Last updated: October 13, 2026
The Hunt sends you to real, physical places. These Location Safety Terms are part of the Terms of Service and apply every time you play. By starting a hunt you agree to them.
1. You are responsible for your safety
You decide whether, when and how to travel to a checkpoint. You are solely responsible for your own safety and conduct, and for anyone playing with you. If a checkpoint looks unsafe, closed, crowded or off-limits, skip it. No points, badge or reward is worth getting hurt.
2. Never trespass
Only go where the public is allowed to be. Do not enter private property, closed areas, construction sites, rooftops, rail lines, or any place that is fenced, locked or posted. Follow venue rules, opening hours and staff instructions. A checkpoint appearing in the App is not permission to enter a place.
3. Never play while driving
Do not use the App while driving, cycling or operating any vehicle. Park safely before you read a clue or verify a checkpoint. Passengers may help, but the driver must not handle the phone.
4. Be aware of your surroundings
Keep your eyes up when walking, especially near traffic, water, cliffs and crowds. Cross streets only where it is safe and legal. Dress for the weather, carry water, and tell someone where you are going. Avoid hunting alone after dark.
5. Players under 18
Players 13–17 may play only with verified parent or guardian consent, and a parent or guardian is responsible for deciding which locations and times are appropriate. Hunts at venues that serve alcohol are restricted to players 21 and older.
6. Respect people and places
Be courteous to residents, businesses and other players. Do not disturb memorials, monuments, plaques, wildlife or property, and never move, damage or take anything to complete a checkpoint. When a checkpoint asks a question about an inscription or a photo of a landmark, read or photograph it from where the public may stand.
7. Your location
The App uses your precise location only while you are playing, to confirm you have reached a checkpoint. It does not track your location in the background for advertising. You can turn location access off in your device settings at any time; some checkpoints can then be verified another way. See the Privacy Policy for details.
8. Emergencies
In an emergency, call 911 (or your local emergency number). The App is not an emergency service and cannot summon help.
9. Reporting an unsafe checkpoint
If a checkpoint sends players somewhere unsafe, closed or private, tell us through Settings → Contact support in the App or at support@digitalsummitlabs.com, and we will review and remove it where appropriate.
10. Our responsibility
Locations are suggested from public map data and can change without notice. We are not responsible for your travel to or from any location or for anything that happens there, to the fullest extent the law allows, as set out in the Terms of Service (Disclaimers & limitation of liability).
